We are saddened to announce the passing of Michael Victor Gomes on the 2nd of July, 2023.

Michael is survived by his loving wife Ann Faith Gomes, daughter Natalie Gomes, stepdaughters Wendy Gomez, Suzanne Gomez and granddaughter Gabriella Sookrae.

He was the eldest son of Josephina and Joseph (Sonny) Gomes (dec’d), and brother to Maria Cuthbert, Angela Mural-Singh, Linda Tang Yew, Tony Gomes, Jose Gomes, Robert Gomes, Camile Chin Fatt and Richard Gomes. He was well loved and will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in-law, cousins and friends.

Michael attended Fatima College, worked for Barclays (now Republic) Bank, Guardian Life of the Caribbean Ltd., Life of Barbados Ltd., and Furness Ltd. Michael was also a proud member of the Lion’s Club Port of Spain North.

To the family of Michael Victor Gomes,

I am writing to share my condolences with you at this time and also a scripture that gives us a hope of seeing our dead loved ones again. The Bible promises : “There is going to be a resurrection…” (Acts 24:15). This means that you have the hope of seeing Michael alive again, right here on earth. In the near future, all those in God’s memory will hear his voice and come out ( John 5: 28,29).
